The Organisation formed 25 self-help
groups in the rural villages near Bagalur, to empower the poor women socially
and economically. There are 480 members (families) in these 25 self-help
groups. These SHG groups are all connected with productive activities whether
on-farm or off farm, and as a result these groups are strong and viable, and the
improvement in their living conditions has meant that their members have
achieved empowerment in real sense. Women’s self-help groups, when linked with
the productive activities, make a huge difference in the living conditions of
the household.
